jeromes dream is the band in the screamo genre that really stands out as something different early in their career to me and goes far beyond the standard screamo mold doing something that takes a bit more power. at 1.31 into the first song on this new release there is some serious guitar texture going on and it leads me to hear schizophrenic things that aren't really present in the real recording as phantom audio so i can't say this recording shouldn't've been made. what they are doing with the guitars is great and leads me to hear more texture than is really there and what i hear really sounds like what the guitar would want to do. because i've recorded phantom audio before, i know that others can hear the recording in the same way that i do... i'm just not that into this recording though. what i like about early jeromes dream and the bizareness of the "jeromes dream presents" record just aren't the same. the sound of this music just hits me in a way that drags on my radar when i try to really get immersed in it. it doesn't flow in a way that i can pick up on. a teenage friend of mine that i played in bands with, kyle, tried telling me about the band russian circles and this reminds me what i don't like about indie rock. it's a rainy day in october 2026 and i'm super bored. i feel decent and this record really isn't doing it for me again. i listened to it when it came out and watched some of the performances from their tour supporting the album, and i can't say i'm into this. after the second song i'm not into this and won't be trying to get through the album again. my time with jeromes dream will be spent on their older music. even "presents" is phenomenal. this new record is something, but not for people with a specific ear for music. it does not come across in a way that washes over me. again i will say i can't pick up on it. love what the first track does with phantom audio, but i don't even care to go through the rest of the album to hear if there is more.

ROBERT L. REVIEWS THE NOISE SCENE:

i don't think bongzilla is listenable even though i get it. it says sunn O is an act with a similar fan base. sunn O is also super unlistenable and boring as shit. makes me think their fan base is stupid people. there is one part of the noise scene.

moving on to the popular purient:

i saw this video on the internet back in like 2004 and i have to say i found it to be shot great and just the sound is great. there is another purient recording in ron lessard's store and that is pretty cool too. i thought the audience made the video cool. i had some thoughts about it. i'm not sure if it was right, but i generally like it... new purient is terrible. i think it has a deeper, maybe not bass, but a deeper sound, probably bass. i'm not sure. but i don't like it. some of it is executed well, although it's not my style. i don't think it's good. i don't like that style of noise.

merzbow pulse demon sounds like complete shit. not listenable at all. merzbow live in paris 1985 is great though. the washing static tones, the chaotic but listenable parts. the part with the bass rock, and the sample or samples of classic music. this bores me and i've never really gotten that into it, but i totally get the sound. it's good. it washes over me. i've had moments of really picking up on it..... the below merzbow performance i put on my favorites before remembering the 1985 paris recording. i wanted to document something better than pulse demon. despite the fact i think it's more listenable than new purient. i find it to kind of be the same style. i'm not that into it. i like the lady that comes across as kind of bugged out swaying from side to side through out the video. i thought it'd be sad if she weren't on acid trying to pick up on visuals cause this performance is boring as shit and it'd be stupid to be there other wise.

this track by hanatarash has an accordion delayed and there is some static in it. i wonder about the artists intentions and how much time they took messing around with caring to do this with the dramatic change at 1.50. i think that change is cool and makes a cool peace of music, but why not a longer ambient piece? maybe they experimented and this is all they recored. most hanatarash is bull shit. the rest of this album is bull shit. i think it's live noise. there is some hanatarash with percussive noise pieced together probably as mash up tape music, but it's not that great. that i don't get the bulldozer shit at hanatarash concerts. that maybe it was some type of joke to see how dumb people are. really stupid. i'd actually like to do some accordion looped through a delay myself. i realize noise is a really boring genre to most. i've enjoyed some other people's noise and i give credit when i like what i hear. making more noise to expect people to listen to is bizarre to me although it's something that i still do. i hope the internet will be a large data base some day where all this music will be accessable and a select group of people will have enough time to keep reviewing it experiencing history all through the rest of history.

here's some more classic noise that i've found on the internet through out the years. got to remember who was documented as the first to do these things. i'm not sure if people were doing this before this or what. i guess feedback and delay isn't really new to the 80's:

if you'd like to discuss noise with me, i'd like to hear it. even if you like the stuff i say is bad. that's fine. i really feel like my using the 12 string and waving the distorted danelectro amp over it is some amazing noise. i know people have done similar stuff before, but i'm not sure how well documented it is. i'd like to try out some other smaller amps in the same way and even go up to playing on stacks like marshall and whatever to see what noise i can create. hopefully i will find space.. i think the best sounds are probably going to come from waving the smaller danelectro type amps over the strummed open tuned 12 string. the danelectro amp is probably the best. idk.

most of what i find uploaded to reddit noise isn't very great. here is something i came across that i think it's good. i'm not sure how original these tones are, but i've listened to a lot of this and it flows. it has good pitch. i like it. https://cumsludgerecords.bandcamp.com/album/stench-from-within i'm not really into how all the tracks spell out "cunt hole", or how it's on "cum sludge records", like it could be about space or something, but they have to make it all perverted and gross

more reccord reviews or at least a long list of bands with great careers and also lists of bands that have 1 or only a few great songs and a bunch of flop songs. maybe also even gonna talk about music i find to be unlistenable.
